Talk:The Kings of Wessex Academy

Victuallers 23:10, 24 March 2007 (UTC) Who changed the alumni...Reply

What's your game?

  • I (User:Kappa) removed the alumni (you can see from the edit history) [1]. Wikipedia would get into trouble if it left insulting information about random people on its pages, even if it is true. If I have removed people who really should be mentioned in an encylopedia, put them back, but please include some evidence which we can check, like a link to a news report. Oi, Cheesy Dave. Is it true you call yourself Cheesy Dave cos your from Cheddar?

With respect to the section on Controversies, the school trip to Geneva which ended up in a brothel really should be mentioned: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article110763.ece 87.112.215.7 (talk) 00:29, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Old Ofsted reports (2010 & earlier?) edit

The old Ofsted reports no longer seem to be available at the given links (specifically, the Ofsted 2010 report). Attempting to find them on the Ofsted website only finds the provider since it became an Academy (URN 136783), and not the previous school reports.

There's a schooletc report (though I don't know the site), which seems to contain the relevant information, and also lists its URN as 123896 (presumably this is the old URN), but the Ofsted website finds no results for this.

I'm wary of the phrasing that talks about the school being praised for being "amazing", etc. From that version of the report, it looks… tentatively accurate… but the Ofsted report hedges and doesn't outright say the school is amazing (there is evidence to support it?), so the article should reflect that.

It's probably worth archiving some of the other references in case those links also die. I've tried to clean up miscellaneous bits of the article. Throne3d (talk) 17:09, 26 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

I've now archived some of the other links (all of them?) and tagged the dead ones with relevant templates using the InternetArchiveBot (which has archived some of the links on this page before). Haven't looked further for non-dead Ofsted links. Throne3d (talk) 00:40, 29 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Peacock terms or promotional langauge edit

I note a banner has been added to this article saying "This article contains wording that promotes the subject in a subjective manner without imparting real information"( which makes it appears on the WikiProject Somerset Cleanup listing). What specific words or phrases need to be removed or reworded?— Rod talk 13:51, 7 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have since discussed this with User talk:KH-1, who placed the banner, at User talk:KH-1#The Kings of Wessex Academy & "peacock" banner and propose to remove the banner unless anyone objects.— Rod talk 20:56, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
