"Scenes & musical sequences" section + copyright issues

I've added an "expand" tag to this. Not much point in having this section in its current cryptic state. It needs to have the actual musical numbers for each act if it is to be of any value to the reader. These can be found in the track listing for the cd Note also that the "Synopsis" section, the "Scenes & musical sequences" section and the "Cast" and "Creative team" sections in this article were copied verbatim (even the formatting) from here and here on the official web site of the composer, Ricky Gordon. He claims to have permission to copy the synopsis onto his web site ("courtesy of David Sander and The Minnesota Opera"), but does Wikipedia have formal permission to do so? Gordon's web site has this notice on each page: "All content copyright 2007 Ricky Ian Gordon" Whoever added the synopsis needs to read WP:IOWN and/or WP:PERMISSION and sort this out or re-write the synopsis in their own words. The "Cast & creative team" section for the original Minnesota cast was a part of this original article created shortly after the world premiere of this work; this is information that was available to me directly as a member of the original MN cast. The composer's page likely copied it directly from this page using the same formatting as, at the time that this page was created, the information did not yet appear on the composer's website. Major rewrite

I have re-formatted and restructured the article and referenced it properly today to bring it into line with the Wikipedia Manual of Style and the guidance at WikiProject Opera. I have also removed excessive amounts of detail, which are inappropriate here, including the names of every chorus member and production asistant. Normally, the full cast list and main production team are given only for the world premiere and premieres of signicantly revised versions. I have done so here for the Minnesota Opera world premiere, and the premiere of the two-act concert version at Carnegie Hall.

Areas where the article could be improved and expanded include a section on its critical reception (a balanced one, not cherry-picked praise quotes), more on the background to the composition process, and a more detailed performance history including specifying the types of revisions which were made and why. The latter should be in prose and referenced to reliable published sources, not copy-pastes of endless cast and crew lists for every production. Voceditenore (talk) 10:42, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
