Image

edit

I have changed the image - all these single and album covers are copyright, and use must meet Wikipedia's fair use policy. The song does not appear on the 12". The album and 7" single covers were the same, and as the song appears in one form or another on both, the image can be used in one of the infoboxes. I've also written up the fair use rationale - you need to remember to do that.--Elen of the Roads (talk) 09:25, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sources

edit

The two things likely to be notable to Wikipedia are the release of a different version on the single to the album, and the video - which got the song a lot of airplay. You might look for some references which refer to these, as you will need sources that support notability to prevent this being nominated for deletion, this song being otherwise only a b side and an album track.--Elen of the Roads (talk) 09:25, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Plagiarism

edit

The first paragraph about the video is a straight lift from The Duran Duran Wiki if you wrote both sets of content, please confirm that you did so. If you didn't, may I suggest you rewrite to avoid a charge of plagiarism (note as Wikia uses the same GFLD licenses as Wikipedia, it is not a copyvio as the material is public domain).--Elen of the Roads (talk) 09:55, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Elen, I did. I am a big contributer to that website. Also, I just created a page for "Night Boat", which uses info from the Duran Duran Wiki. However, I created the page for Night Boat on the DDWiki too, but it won't be listed as me cause I wasn't logged in at the time.--Das Ansehnlisch (talk) 15:55, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
I thought you might have done. It may need a footnote to that effect at some point.--Elen of the Roads (talk) 22:07, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Having rewatched the video (always a pleasure) I have rewritten that para, so there's no issue here any more. It's free to all, so feel free if you want to copy it back into other articles that refer.--Elen of the Roads (talk) 23:40, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hey Elen, I knew most of the info about the video and the song, but where did you find the info that was part of the stuff you recently included? I knoW most all of their history, but just wondering--Das Ansehnlisch (talk) 15:00, 2 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Anything I've put in either has a source or I got from rewatching the vid. My Google-Fu just seems to have worked good. There have been two other significant covers - Sleeptheif and The Lovecrave, so I need to track down some details. BTW - Is Resident Evil:Apocalypse a game, rather than a film? Do I need to correct.--Elen of the Roads (talk) 15:43, 2 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
No your good. I'm not big about that stuff either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Das Ansehnlisch (talkcontribs) 13:57, 3 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
