For a start, the term retarded is considered insulting. To quote from Mental retardation: The term "mental retardation" has itself now acquired some pejorative and shameful connotations over the last few decades due to the use of "retarded" as an insult. The play was written in the eighties and uses the term frequently. 'Retarded' is a medical term, and if some small minded people use it as an insult, they're the ones who need to change. Bkatcher (talk) 20:26, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
