Unsourced addition edit

An editor added to the article:

In more recent times the opera has been given a new lease of life in a revised version by David Eden. Whilst leaving the strong storyline, lyrics and music intact, Eden replaces Pinero's redundant dialogue with short passages of rhyming couplets, very much in the style of a Miracle Play. A successful production by Generally G & S at Retford (Nottinghamshire) in 1996 will be followed by a further production in Somerset in 2007.

On a personal level, I'm very happy to hear about new productions of The Beauty Stone. But from a Wikipedia viewpoint, this passage is problematic. There is no verifiable source offered for the claims that:

  • The opera "has been given a new lease on life"
  • The storyline is "strong"
  • Pinero's dialogue is "redundant"
  • Eden's version is "in the style of a Miracle Play"
  • Generally G & S's production was "successful"

All these things might be true, but they are unsourced. They appear to be non-neutral. The "new lease on life" claim certainly seems dubious. Two amateur productions eleven years apart hardly signals a significant turnabout in the opera's reputation. Also, there is a rough consensus among Wikipedia editors that community theatre productions are not notable, even when the work is (like this one) rarely performed. Probably we could make some sort of statement about this if there was a link to a website with the information about the productions that explained why they were significant. --Ssilvers 23:11, 29 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Song titles edit

The song titles should not be italicized. They can be in quotes, but even that is not necessary in a list of musical numbers. Would the person who italicized them kindly convert them? If you do not have time to do so, let me know, and I'll just delete the formatting. Thanks! -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:30, 4 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
