Unfounded statements

edit

Lot's of unfounded statements in this article. Can anyone verify them?

Tons of bullshit on this page.

Freddy Ruppert

edit

Following accusations need citations. The upload in question doesn't appear to be on Youtube and, if it is, a link should be provided:

"It was leaked by Freddy Ruppert of This Song Is A Mess But So Am I as a retaliation/ art project. According to Ruppert, Jamie Stewart had burned a copy of his latest CD "Marble Mouth" for a friend. The upload was filmed and released on Youtube as a documentaion."

Until someone can show a link to the Youtube video or any solid reference to Ruppert's retaliation, this shouldn't be in the article.

Theory

edit

"Much of Xiu Xiu's symbolism is derived by radical leftist politics and rigorous visual theory along the lines of Barthes, Deleuze, Guatarri, and Foucault."

Does anyone have any evidence of this? I haven't noticed this in any of their previous albums.

one of their songs has foucault in the title, but that's it really. The people mentioned aren't really "radical leftist"s either..

The Onion

edit

Can someone please post a link to this Onion article on Xiu Xiu's The Air Force?

This seems to be a total load of bullshit. There is no Onion article, neither The Onion nor the AV Club. Also, the tone of this crap is completely and utterly biased, having no place in Wikipedia. "therefore waste the warmonger's money on Xiu Xiu fans who are intelligent and well versed in global politics, capitalism, and empire." Not really a partisan statement such that should be featured in Wikipedia. If this was a direct quote from Jamie, it would be acceptable, but I utterly doubt that this quote was more than some sophomoric attempt to introduce bias to this page. The unverified content should be deleted until someone confirms that The Onion even knows who the hell Xiu Xiu is. Fmalcangi 06:49, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:XiuXiuTheAirForce.jpg

edit

Image:XiuXiuTheAirForce.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
