editThe sources say that the band did explode in the pop punk scene, but this album was more punk than pop. Read sources.

- I did read the sources.
- http://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/cdreviews/TeenagePolitics.asp states "MxPx had emerged with a new wave of punk, entitled 'pop/punk'."
- http://www.punknews.org/review/4561/mxpx-teenage-politics states "would explode in the pop-punk scene" and "put a heavier emphasis on the punk and less on the pop" but you'll notice that they still have some pop in their sound. Had the writer said something to the effect of "remove the pop in favor of punk" it would be clear that they were pure punk rock, but that's not what the writer states. Two sources support pop punk. Well I think adding both genres is okay, since punk news says it focuses emphasis more on punk than pop, at least maybe putting punk is fine since punk rock can go with pop punk

- If you can find a source with only punk rock, then adding it would be fine. But the nature of fusion genres, such as pop punk, is that in some instances you'll have more of one genre and in others you'll have more of the other. That doesn't mean it isn't the fusion genre.
