Someone racial is changing data in his own view edit

Someone who is disputing the Tamil population in various states or provices in India and Sri Lanka respectively, is purely racial. Recently the population of Tamil diaspora in UAE is counted to be 350,000 while it is written as 10,000 here, all the references are given to one single reference that do not lead to any trustable reference. Please do not show your racial feeling to change the truth. If you are racial and do not acknowledge the truth, do not touch wikipedia. I will report your edition to the wikipedia admin and permanently block your edition in wikipedia completely. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Givetoalex (talkcontribs) 07:45, 20 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please provide WP:RS to back up your figures and to show that these people who have permanently settled abroad, as opposed to ex-pat workers who would be included in the population figures of India/Sri Lanka.--obi2canibetalk contr 11:08, 20 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Changes by M.K.Dan edit

@M.K.Dan has made a number of changes to this article which are not supported by the given citations. For example, India's Tamil population is given as 72,147,030 but the given citation gives the Tamil population as 60,793,814. Malaysia's Tamil population is given as 1,743,922 but the given citation gives Tamil speakers as 1,300,000. Myanmar's Tamil population is given as 1,000,000 but the given citation says Burma had a Tamil population of 200,000 at one time but has since reduced.

Myanmar has a population of about 1 million Indians. Not all of them are Tamils. Myanmar Indians refers to people who migrated to Myanmar during the British colonial period from today's India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. One estimate states that about 60% of the Myanmar Indian went from the Madras presidency. Madras presidency included today's Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and parts of Karnataka and Kerala. According to this the number of Tamil people should be well below 200,000. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.2.16.152 (talk) 06:36, 1 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

I have tried to remove the incorrect data but M.K.Dan keeps reverting. He/she is showing utter contempt for WP:V.--obi2canibetalk contr 13:51, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

The population of Tamil Nadu is 72,147,030 according to 2011 census of India (http://www.census2011.co.in/census/state/tamil+nadu.html), 60,793,814 is the data of Tamil Nadu in 2001. I have ignored the Tamil population in Pondicherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar islands and rest of the India. The recent Malaysian Tamil population is 1,743,922 (https://www.sublet.com/information/malaysia.asp). Firstly, you didn't provide the sources in the article, violating WP:V. Providing WP:RS isn't optional, its mandatory.
Secondly, this list about Tamil population, not the the population of Tamil Nadu. They are two different things. At the 2001 census the Tamil population was 60,793,814 whereas the population of Tamil Nadu was 62,405,679. Not everyone in Tamil Nadu is Tamil. And there many Tamils living in other parts of India. You cannot "ignore" Tamils living in Pondicherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar islands and rest of the India. This is an encyclopedia - contents must be accurate and complete.--obi2canibetalk contr 14:46, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
The number 62,405,679 for 2001 is not accurate since it excludes the parts of Manipur where there is a large number of Tamils. Also the most of the existing data is only in "estimated" values. M.K.Dan —Preceding undated comment added 15:23, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Read my comment again. The 62,405,679 was the population of Tamil Nadu so of course it excludes Manipur. We include estimated data where there aren't actuals. You did not provide WP:RS to back up your "estimate" that the Tamil population of India was 72,147,030.--obi2canibetalk contr 09:31, 22 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
