The intention of this page is to publish a factual description of TTI, Inc., the specialist electronic component distributor located in Fort Worth, Texas. The word "specialist" refers solely to the limited scope of the product offering and is not marketing hyperbole. All of the information presented on the article page is verifiable. Ultimately, I would like this article to include elements similar to other business entries like Microsoft and Apple Computer that list the company logo, number of employees, etc. Coreycreed 17:22, 21 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Does TTI meet our notability guideline for companies? Aecis Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984. 23:45, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Based on at least one Wikipedia criterion, TTI is a notable company - "The company or corporation is listed on ranking indices of important companies produced by well-known and independent publications." As is now noted and cited in the article, the company was listed in several publications. These publications are owned by Reed Publications and CMP Media, and the annually-published rankings are based on sales volume. Additionally, direct competitors of TTI, Inc. (specifically Avnet and Arrow Electronics) have unflagged articles posted in the Wikipedia Encyclopedia. Melyssa57 16:45, 21 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have removed the speedy deletion tag. However, the points raised that led to the nomination were fair. The article is very positive of the company, and borders on WP:SPAM. The article needs a rewrite, which is why I have listed it at Wikipedia:Cleanup. Aecis Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984. 19:21, 21 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
I've looked over this article and don't believe it qualifies as spam as none of the information is presented in a hyperbolic style and the article has appropriate references. It's true that the article says nothing negative said about the company but I don't see that as being indicative of non-neutrality, as I see nothing expressing an opinion of the company.
I am making changes to the second paragraph as I find a list of operations housed in the Fort Worth location and the number of sales markets in N. America unnecessary information. The information in the third paragraph (which I will be merging with the second paragraph) does appear relevant as it establishes that the company is global. Also, as I understand it, passive electronic products require high-volume distribution in order to effectively generate revenue so the size of the company's distribution center and the expanded facilities in Asia might be salient to someone looking for information about the company.
I'm also cutting the "Need to Specialize" section and merging some of its verbiage with the general information, as I don't see anything in it that requires its own section.
I hope Aecis finds these edits satisfactory and Coreycreed doesn't mind my trimming his original contribution. Maria Caliban 08:36, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
