Talk:Synthetic racetrack surfaces for horse racing

Cleanup Needed edit

I flagged this article because it is in desperate need of cleaning. Few Issues I noticed right off the bat

  • The use of inline HTML links. This causes a lot of confusion when reading the article. Please use the footnote tag for any references.
  • The Australia subheading seems to repeat the language found in the ProRide section.
  • Someone has also used the article to rebut certain aspects rather then the Talk page. Please use the talk page if you have issus with the article.

There may be other issues that I don't see right off, but thats something we will need to look at as we go through it. --Navi555 (talk) 01:04, 16 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

edited some of the links to use references. Also eliminated some of the "talk" content. However we will need to rewrite the ProRide and the Australia sections. We may just eliminate the Australia section altogether unless there is a really good reason to keep it. --Navi555 (talk) 02:00, 16 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Rewrite edit

Sorry to previous contributors, but I am going to gut the article and rewrite it. No editorialising: just the surface, technical description and one or two examples each.  Tigerboy1966  23:39, 1 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

3/12/12 - Sorry to previous contributors, I have re-written the entire article and will continue to add information to represent a fair and unbias view of the topic of Synthetic racetrack surfaces for horse racing. -Bennpoulton

  • Thanks for your work on this: the article is looking much better. I've done a bit of tidying. We do need to find some references. Tigerboy1966  07:36, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

I am an employee of one of the installers (Pro-Ride) and can provide a lot more information about the surfaces incl. photos (of all types of synthetic tracks), news articles and maintenance requirements. I'll hopefully have the article complete by Christmas. I am new to wikipedia so your assistance with formatting/references/etc is greatly appreciated Tigerbot1966. - Benn Poulton
