Italian linguistic areas

This section refers to the use of the terms 'sindaco' and 'sindaca' in 'Italy and parts of Switzerland', implying (wrongly) that this usage is confined to Italian-speaking parts of Switzerland (the canton of Ticino and parts of Graubünden). In actual fact, the term 'syndic' is used in the French-speaking cantons of Vaud and Fribourg - thus the mayor of Lausanne is called the 'syndic' (two other French-speaking cantons call this 'président(e) de la commune', and the other three, including Geneva, use the standard French term 'maire'). All this can be found in the French-language version of the same article, so the English- and French-language versions provide conflicting information.213.127.210.95 (talk) 13:23, 1 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
