Talk:Sydney bus route 190X

Latest comment: 3 years ago by Fleet Lists in topic Still the longest?

Article name edit

I have reverted the article title to Sydney bus route L90 over Sydney bus route 190. The route is known to commuters as L90,[1][2][3] so it is appropriate per WP:COMMONNAME. Only a small number of route 190 services operate each day, insignificant to the main route L90. WWGB (talk) 01:36, 12 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

While I agree this is notable if it is the longest bus route in Sydney, the source (The Manly Daily) only claims it is the longest State Transit route. My guess is that the 607X (Rouse Hill to Wynyard) actually holds this distinction, but then there may be other candidates among the cross-regional services as well. Three existing articles (144, 400 and L90) are the oldest, busiest and longest respectively, so each individually notable. 607X or another may be longer, but without confirmation by a reliable source, a moot point .Ponyo98 (talk) 00:07, 1 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
L90 is notable for more than its length. Popular with tourists for its scenic views, subject of a diecast model etc. WWGB (talk) 00:14, 1 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Still the longest? edit

Is 190X still the longest bus route in Sydney? If not, then the present article is not notable. In that case, the article should revert to tell the story of L90, then end on it being the FORMER longest bus route. WWGB (talk) 01:22, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Was also looking at that issue. By its curtailment to Avalon Beach its length was reduced 5km to 37km. The B1 rote from Mona Vale which I think would be the next candidate is another 6km less and even extnded to Town Hall by 700 metres would still be less. keeping in mind that the record relates to State Transit routes only, it appears that 190X is still the longest Even that would need a bit more of a reword.
