Why the caps? edit

Many of the animal names linked from here are capitalized as if they were propper names. Why? -Harmil 13:12, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization), Wikipedia:Naming conventions (fauna), and Wikipedia:WikiProject Tree of Life#Article titles and common names. Angr (talkcontribs) 16:02, 8 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Phylogeny edit

Given the recent DNA analyses showing that cetaceans are related to ungulates (see article Cetartiodactyla), the scientific classification tree of Suidae needs to be updated. Any objections before this is done? Bytor 18:55, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Extinct Subfamilies/Genus/Species/Subspecies edit

Shouldn't they be added to the list, just to be informative? Just a question/suggestion. Eriorguez 12:05, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've added some, but unfortunately, I don't have a comprehensive list. (Which would be quite long, incidentally - there are probably at least six subfamilies!)Anaxial (talk) 13:26, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

pronunciation? edit

sue + ee + day? sue + ee + die? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.156.66.151 (talk) 15:14, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think it's the former. Thank you for pointing out this problem with the article. Chrisrus (talk) 16:58, 27 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Pig disambiguation edit

There are discussions in progress on Talk:Pig (disambiguation) and Talk:Pig which affect this page. Please participate there (not here). Thank you. 69.3.72.249 (talk) 20:57, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Suinae? edit

The article Suinae needs help. Chrisrus (talk) 17:09, 27 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Working off the taxa list placed on Suinae, I have reorganized the list here to reflect as much as I could find on subfamilies, tribes, and species for the taxa list here. --Kevmin § 01:24, 28 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
