    • @Davidwr: @BethNaught: I have removed this as unnecessary. The page is protected, and the {{wiktionary redirect}} template automatically puts it into a protected redirects category. – Fayenatic London 20:56, 30 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
      • @Fayenatic london: As best I can tell, the page is in fact protected, so adding {{pp-protected|small=yes}} to the top is appropriate. As you pointed out, "protected=1" parameter on the template is not needed, the template is sensitive to the protection level of the page and changes its display accordingly. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 00:16, 1 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
        • @Davidwr: The automatic category Category:Protected soft redirects is sufficient. Adding the pp-protected template unnecessarily puts the page into its parent category Category:Wikipedia protected pages as well. Does it do anything else? – Fayenatic London 07:36, 1 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
          • @Fayenatic london: Yes, it does. In most if not all cases, it puts a visible icon in the upper-right of the page. If you mouse-over the icon, you will get an explanation as to why the page is protected. Perhaps that template or its underlying module needs to be changed so a page is not put in the "protected pages" category if it's on one of its sub-categories already. Or, alternatively, whatever is putting it in the "Protected soft redirect" category can be changed to also display the icon. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 23:30, 1 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
