Starkey

edit

Since I might get into trouble if I don't record it, the Starkey Comment was made on the BBC Radio 4 programme 'Loose Ends, presented by Ned Sherrin, original transmission date 10th September 2005. If you are on the page to moan about lack of source citation there it is- where it informs, but does not interfere with the rest of the article. Pydos 12:07, 11 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Does the David Starkey quote really deserve a mention here? El Jaber 19:26, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Stub

edit

I fail to see how this article is a "stub," given that it seems to fully cover a rather narrow subject. Does every article have to be six pages or longer to be complete? --69.15.228.149 (talk) 14:57, 11 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Band??

edit

I'm removing the information on the band from Brisbane, which was added through an improperly labeled minor edit and raises issues with WP:NOTABLE and WP:NPOV, as well as the general Wikipedia-is-not-a-platform-for-advertising-your-(favorite)-band principle. A search for "sub judice band" turns up this page, another that appears to be a fork, and a bunch of Facebook pages. This page is for the legal concept, not for non-notable bands that share the name. dcd139 (talk) 19:26, 30 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Applies to officials of the other branches of government

edit

I was taught by my grandfather, who was a lawyer, that the sub judice rule applies specifically to officials of the other two branches of the government. Ordinary citizens are under no such constraint. The object is, of course, to avoid the appearance of undue influence being wielded by members of the executive and/or the legislative. Moreover, according to what I was given to understand, the sub judice rule is not codified into written law, but a matter of custom and respect for due process on the part of the authorities in question.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any references for this, so I'm not updating the article with it (yet). Recoloniser (talk) 01:52, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
