Strange Attractors

edit

It may be worth mentioning that the explanation Gretchen gives for Strange Attractors is completely bogus. She explains them as attraction between magnetic particles (Physics), while in reality strange attractors are a concept in mathematics. An attractor is a stable set to which a dynamical system converges with time. A strange attractor is an attractor that displays chaotic behaviour. Rlinfinity (talk) 04:03, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

It is irrelevant; we do not point out such errors, as it is fiction after all. EdokterTalk 11:13, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
It isn't irrelevant. When fiction makes reference to science it is the norm to point out something as egregiously and laughably off the mark as this one. (For example, there is a scientific inaccuracies section for many books and movies such as, say, Jurassic Park. The explanation given in this episode is nowhere near the real meaning. It is about as wrong as suggesting that a Chimpanzee is a type of rocketship. 90.222.51.206 (talk) 21:06, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
