Self Inflicted Stigma should be covered in association to the Mental health industry. We as consumers put stigma of being mentaly ill on our own being. Seriously tho mental health stigma is a more serious problem than weight stigma and as such should be on this page. Ok? And if someone turns up to say that weight stigma *is* significantly more prevalent and disabling than any mental health stigma, I will mercilessly tease them without remorse. The definition of Stigma in this day & age is truely not just a matter of using the wrong word or action. Stigma is about Mental Illness. About disrespect. It is the use of negative labels to identify a person living with mental illness. I understand that stigmas exist for many different people. But, I agree with the person who said above that there is a stigma about mental illness. http://www.nami.org/template.cfm?section=fight_stigma It's a significant problem that leads people to not recognize or receive assistance for illnesses that they have in an attempt to escape the stigmas of mental illness.
Some of these stigmas include:
1. The belief that mentally ill people cannot recover,
2. The belief that mentally ill people are at fault for their illness, and
3. The belief that mentally ill people are violent. These stigmas are faulty in the majority of cases.
In regard to stigma 1: Treatment for mentally ill people is possible. Cognitive behavioral therapy and meditation techniques help many people with dissociative and behavioral mental disorders. Leprosy stigma edit
- In the Japanese Wikipedia, there are a lot of words meaning stigma not only something stigma but completely different words meaning stigma and I thought leprosy stigma can be written. However, we must follow the Wikipedia rule.

- If you mean other entries of the type "stigma associated with X", "stigma associated with Y", etc., then no, please let's not. We have a rule about this at WP:DAB#Partial title matches. I'm removing weight stigma and leprosy stigma, these should never have been included. Fut.Perf. ☼ 17:32, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
