Removed edit
Removed note claiming existence of other Marvel character named Starlord. Link leads to a 2000AD character of that name, unrelated entirely, put in pertinent link at top.
I have added a more detailed history of the characters first two appearances. Hopefully it's not TOO detailed...
Either way, I believe it's an improvement, and any edits or feedback are much appreciated.

How is it that Starlord III (1997) was introduced before Starlord II (2000)? --There are no names left (talk) 02:32, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- The 1997 story is set far into the future, the 2000 story is set in current era. The 1997 version isn't called "III" in universe.

I'm not familiar with this storyline, so I can't make this say whatever was intended.
"Peter escaped on time. After finding Spartax had been completely covered in amber by Thane, including Kitty, Peter lamented not having heard her since the beginning and apologize to her. Kitty escaped thanks to her phasing powers and both had a reunion. Seeing no other way to defeat J'son and his cosmic empowered team, Peter tried to submit to the Vortex but after seeing the power would eventually make him push Kitty away, he refused. Kitty ended up submitting and saving Spartax."
