Stabilizing or Stabilized
editFrom the history of the article:
- 12:36, 8 September 2011 Maury Markowitz (moved Stabilizing Automatic Bomb Sight to Stabilized Automatic Bomb Sight: Wrong name, sheesh.)
The change in name and the additional information was added without any cited sources. The reason I named the article as I did when I created the stub was because in the sources I found such as http://www.raf.mod.uk/bombercommand/nov43.html (that is included in this article) it says:
- "No 617 Squadron resumed operations after its period of high-level training with the new 'Stabilizing Automatic Bomb Sight'."
What are the sources for the change in name and the additional information? -- PBS (talk) 21:06, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
- Oh it's easy enough to find, for instance this book, this, this and this. Unfortunately there's basically no detail in any of these. I'm looking for later publications of AP1730, but no luck so far. Maury Markowitz (talk) 21:35, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
- Please add some of that information as citations. -- PBS (talk) 20:14, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Comparison with the Norden
editI've removed this section. It makes no sense to compare the performance of the line crews of the 8th Air Force against 617 Squadron's veterans and doesn't tell us anything about the relative merits of either bombsight. The discussion in Operational Use makes it much more clear that 617 was an elite force. Mackensen (talk) 12:41, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- I would restore it. The comparison is valuable. The section, even as written, seems balanced. Andy Dingley (talk) 12:53, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
