College bar edit

An unreferenced statement was added about the bar being one of only a few student run bars left in Oxford. Is that true? When I was a student it was largely student staffed but was under the management of the SCR. Even so, the claim to being only one of a few left needs a source. Copyvio edit

Much of the material in the article seems to be lifted without modification straight from the College website. This is a bit of a no-no. I will fix as best I can, unless someone can explain? Badgerpatrol 01:12, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Can you confirm exactly which webpage and text - it's possible they copied us... The article has a fairly long history and seems to have grown reasonalby organically. archive.org and the article history might be able to help us establish who copied who. Megapixie 01:45, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Nevermind - I worked it out. It looks like this edit http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=St_Peter%27s_College%2C_Oxford&diff=936487&oldid=876123 introduced something that looks a little too close to comfort to http://web.archive.org/web/20010614142831/http://www.spc.ox.ac.uk/history/index.html (Snapshot from 2001 - predating the article). I think it can be fixed by reworking rather than reducing to a stub. Megapixie 01:52, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's the page I was referring to. Thanks for doing the legwork- I must confess, the possibility that they had copied us was not one that I had actually considered! I'll try and rework it a bit tomorrow. Badgerpatrol 02:05, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

John Antony Cramer edit

The article about John Antony Cramer says "principal of New Inn Hall (which he rebuilt at his own expense)" - anyone have any more information, like dates and/or buildings etc?--Alf melmac 13:10, 12 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Latin name edit

Keelan, I see that you changed Collegium Sancti Petri-le-Bailey to Collegium Sancti Petri Juxta Ballium. Do you know if either version is or was actually used by the college?

The best I could find was

  • parochia sancti Petri in Ballio (the Parish of St Peter-le-Bailey) on page 176 of The Oxford Deeds of Balliol College, 1913.
  • Aula Sancti Petri (St Peter's Hall) on page 346 of Statuta Universitatis Oxoniensis, 1960. TSventon (talk) 10:38, 9 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

New coat of arms edit

I see on the college website that St Peter's are using a new coat of arms, for which there is a file on commons [1]. Should this article be updated to use the new one?

Perhaps this is not the right place for such a discussion, considering a change to this page would presumably coincide with a change to all the pages which use the old coat of arms. Medarduss (talk) 17:34, 2 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
