Don't some flying wing type aircraft rely spoilerons for rudder/yaw control? — Soupisgoodfood 13:04, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

The article on the P-61 says it had spoilerons only, and no ailerons. -- 790 18:58, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The article on the P-61 is wrong. The earliest version had no ailerons, but this proved unsatisfactory and the operational aircraft had small ailerons as well as spoilerons.```` —Preceding unsigned comment added by Top Gunn (talkcontribs) 01:44, 16 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

First paragraph: "it's usually not undesired" (?) Please would someone re-write this sentence in a way I can understand ? Darkman101 (talk) 00:05, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Looks like someone did eventually modify that. "But since roll and yaw motion are both to the wing with the raised spoileron, it's usually desirable" does not make much more sense either, unfortunately. 129.107.224.139 (talk) 22:18, 30 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

A picture or diagram

would be helpful. Midgley (talk) 09:18, 18 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

100% agree. I have great difficulties in understanding why the spoilerons work differently (regarding lift/drag) in comparison to ailerons. A sketch would be much better than many words.

Relevance of "Research" section

edit

The "Research" section seems like it would be appropriate in a discussion of flight controls, but doesn't relate well to a discussion of flaperons specifically. I'll delete soon if no one objects. Retswerb (talk) 01:33, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
