In geometry, a spherical segment is the solid defined by cutting a sphere with a pair of parallel planes. The illustration and this comment does not mention if the pair of parallel planes as being in the same hemisphere matters or does not. Does it?

Some general examples of spherical segments are the three twilight regions that surround the earth. Middle latitudes I think are another. Note that these examples use angles in place of h.
