There are mistakes of English in text, such as the use of "But in" instead of "However, in". Therefore, I am correcting these mistakes. About the removal of the template:Friendly association football tournaments in South America from this article I must leave my point of view about the status of this competition. Well, the word "friendly" may be confusing so "unofficial" could be a more accurate term. The fact that Conmebol recongised the tournament as a predecessor to Copa Libertadores, does not mean this tournament is "official".
Moreover, Conmebol can´t give official status to a tournament not organised by them. In the same way, FIFA has no influence on regional (in this case South American) competitions. As Conmebol was founded in 1916 and the 1948 Campeonato de Campeones" was held decades after, we can´t give official status to a competition organised by club Colo-Colo. - To use the term "friendly" implies that the competition was like a summer exhibition tournaments like Teresa Herrera or tbe likes, whereas in reality it was a competition organised with a view to crowning the South American club champion and hosted with the aid of then Conmebol president (only in 1955 FIFA decided that international club competitions should be organised by international confederations such as CONMEBOL and UEFA; before that, the prevailing idea is that such competitions should be organised by the clubs themselves; see JUles Rimet statements at www.uefa.com/newsfiles/240459.pdf). If the objective of Fma12 is highlight that the 1948 Cup has not been officialised by Conmebol, then fairer and truer is just to say the Conmebol recognised it as an "in illo tempore" version of the Libertadores, but that Conmebol has not enlisted it as an official Conmebol competition, and that's it. To insist to call it "friendly" whereas the competition very clearly was not a "friendly cup" as we understand it (Teresa Herrera and the likes) is to falsify the history of the competition.
