Does Audigy 2 ZS has it? Whot about OpenAL and hardware-acceleration? or it use only CPU?

SPDIF connection

I have an Audigy 2 with a connector called "Digital Out". The manual describes it:

Digital Out Jack: 6-channel or compressed AC3 SPDIF output for conection to external digital devices or digital speaker systems.

The actual jack seems to take a plug that is like a 3.5mm stereo plug with one extra conductor ring. What the heck is that? How can it be called SPDIF without supporting one of the three specified SPDIF connectors (TOSLINK, BNC, or RCA)? There appears to be a cable that has such a plug on one end and a "DIN" connector on the other to connect to certain specific speakers. DHR 06:57, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

NOTE: The use of the top 3.5 mm Digital Out jack on the sound card requires an adapter that Creative sells. The adapter has the 3.5 mm (3-ring + tip) jack on one end of the cable, and a small 'breakout box' on the other end. The 'breakout box' has a pair of S-PDIF I/O ports, and a pair of TosLink I/O ports on it. EAX 3.0 >> EAX 4.0

Hi there. The Audigy 1 is cabable of EAX 4.0, too. This was enabled as the Audigy 2 was released and new drivers where available. The Audigy 1 has no disadvantages in this manner.--Hubert Hans (talk) 14:54, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

One card left out? Or am I misinformed?

My own Audigy card shows up in both windows and in Linux as a plain vanilla Audigy with no letters or other designation. It came installed by default on an old Gateway machine. I don't see any reference to this particular card on the Audigy page. You can still go to the Creative Labs website and download the documentation for this exact card so.....hmm. My Audigy 2 ZS comes up in Windows as a Audigy 2. The drivers don't distinguish between Creative's marketed bundles. What is the model number on the card? (SBxxxx) --Swaaye 02:30, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Give a try to the "kX Project" audio drivers, usually they identify correctly any "10k*-based" sound card. I myself have just bought an Audigy-2 card labelled as "SB0350", only to discover it is actually an "SB0243" >_< . KSM-2501ZX, IP-address:= 200.226.4.106 (talk) 02:33, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Sound Blaster Audigy Player

This card (which I own) is only mentioned as a caption to the photo and I think ought to be at least mentioned in the article somewhere . I think it is similar to the original audigy value card. From looking at the picture it looks like it has a CA-0100 chip on it. If necessary I can take a look at it to figure out what chips are on it... timmydog

Break out box

There is little information to be found about the break-out boxes, and which are compatible to what. I noticed the SB Player comes with a breakout box whose connector has the same layout as the 2ZS (which I also own, but without box).
