Looking at what photos I can find of the game, it looks like the buildings and vehicles are all parallelograms. Trapezoids is also accurate, but paralellogram would seem to be more accurate. Could someone more familiar with the game confirm (and update the article if appropriate)? Alan De Smet | Talk 07:17, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I try and base my wiki pages on actual contemporary source material - the magazine articles I've found tend to use "trapezoid" in describing the buildings. I believe that term is also used in the actual game manual. I suspect hard core fans of the game would be more used to that term. However, once I get some scans done of the mapboard, I can mention that they are really parallelograms, perhaps in an image caption?? Thanks for fixing the bolding on the introductory use of the game title - I'm still new to some of the formatting conventions.Michael Dorosh 15:36, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I've made mention that the shapes are actually parallelograms - good catch. However, I continue to use "trapezoid" later on - mainly because you can use it in the following sense

"...buildings in the new Edition were also trapezoidal in shape..."

Whereas "parallelogram" is harder to get to flow in the text when used in that situation...Michael Dorosh 15:45, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Julian Gollup and XCOM edit

Julian Gollup, author of the XCOM games, credits the sniper board game is being influential. Should this be mentioned? http://www.nowgamer.com/features/1034964/interview_with_xcom_creator_julian_gollop.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.105.9.144 (talk) 19:05, 8 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Sniperboxtop2.jpg edit

Image:Sniperboxtop2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page.
