I'm removing this:

Other types

• Digital version
• Bimetal version
• Electronic version

There are a few things wrong with this list:

• "Digital" and "Electronic" – how are these two different types?
• No indication anywhere of how bimetal can record maximum/minimum temperature
• Being an indoor–outdoor thermometer has nothing to do with being a maximum/minimum thermometer, so the link didn't really make sense

But it's worth noting that electronic thermometers often do have max/min facilities, so I'm replacing this with a sentence to this effect. Still, can we find some information on other designs of max/min thermometer? I once had a needle thermometer that from what I made out worked using a metal coil. From what I remember, it had max/min needles – I think some piece at the foot of the regular measurement needle would just push these needles. But it was some time ago so I don't remember exactly, and I'm not sure at all what reset mechanism it had. In any case, it would be nice if we can find some information about this type (among others) to add to the article. — Smjg (talk) 20:27, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
