Shedinja's PokeBall

edit

In the article it says "The Poké Ball the Shedinja is in will be the same as the one the Nincada was in". So, what PokeBall does the Ninjask use? Wouldn't Ninjask, being the Pokemon that directly evolves from Nincada, be kept in that PokeBall?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 62.31.210.4 (talk) 16:40, 13 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

Yes, indeed. Ninjask will be in the same Poké Ball as Nincada was in. And Shedinja's Poké Ball will be the same type as the one that Ninjask is in.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 00:30, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Stage 1

edit

I'm not sure you can call Shedinja a stage 1 Pokémon simply because it doesn't evolve from anything, merely appears when Nincada evolves. I would think it should be called a Basic Pokémon. Opinions? Stifle 12:49, 21 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

However, Stage 1 is justified in the TCG. A player has to make a choice between evolving into a Ninjask or a Shedinja. Acetic Acid 01:31, 17 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Even though the TCG says that it is a Stage One, I'm going to have to side with a Basic Pokemon, because Shedinja doesn't really evolve, nor have a gender, it's like the whole Manafi to Fione thing. 66.189.88.194 20:12, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

As long as there is a source; we can't go making things up. DanPMK 00:45, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, but the tcg also says that Kabuto is a Stage 1, so either Shedinja's basic or Kabuto is Stage 1 66.189.36.187 15:14, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Naruto?

edit

"Nukenin also means missing-nin; a ninja who has deserted his clan or village. One example would be Sasuke Uchiha or Orochimaru from Naruto. This is possibly the reason why only Super-Effective attacks can hit it."

What's up with the completely unrelated Naruto reference? And I don't understand the logical leap between missing ninja and only vulnerable to super effective attacks. Can somebody clear this up please?

What's with the part about Naruto?

Are real life ninjas the same way?

I don't think it's necessary. 74.116.142.240 23:39, 26 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pokeball necessary for evolution?

edit

The article currently says that an extra pokeball is necessary to evolve Nincada into Shedinja. Problem is, the pokeball isn't necessary, it's a misconception that's been perpetuated in many guides, including Nintendo's official guide if I'm not mistaken. Personally, my belief is that very few players go around with no pokeballs in their inventory, so they never have a chance to observe Nincada evolving into Shedinja without a pokeball.

I personally have tested this on Pokemon Emerald and Pokemon Leafgreen - catch a Nincada, toss away all my balls so my balls pocket is empty, then Rare Candy the Nincada up to level 20. Both times Shedinja appeared, with the same ball Nincada had been caught in. I think this is enough to safely speculate that all Advance Generation games follow this pattern.

I realize this is all original research, and as such the article can't be updated on my word alone. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find reputable guides that explicitly debunk this myth, since most guides just say "have five or less Pokemon in your team" or something similar, and don't mention the need (or lack thereof) for a pokeball.

Gamefaq's "Codes" section for Pokemon Emerald mentions Shedinja and how a ball's not necessary: [1] Would this be reputable enough for our purposes?

Some online forums also discuss the balls: [2] [3] [4] For your reference.

Hey, look, I replied to that last one. o.o But, yeah, we have to find a reliable source for that, and I don't think Gamefaqs counts because it's user-contributed.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 00:30, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
