Fair use rationale for Image:ShadesOfGray.jpg

edit

Image:ShadesOfGray.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I believe this issue has been addressed. Other editors can let me know if additional information is required since this request for fair use rationale was posted. TARDIS (talk) 18:10, 14 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Red Oaks

edit

I recently added the fact that the song "Tears Don't Fall" appeared on the television show Red Oaks (season 2, episdoe 4). It was deleted because IMDB is an unreliable source. Ok. But the song is on the show's credits. I took a photo of my TV screen listing the The Choir's song on the show's credits. I don't know how to prove that. But please add that information back to the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Glstacks (talkcontribs) 16:30, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

IMDB is not a reliable source and photos can be doctored. We need a WP:RS. Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:40, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I understand your concerns with IMDB and doctoring photos. But the song was on the show. I heard it. I saw the credits. People can clearly see the credits for themselves. I'm not sure I understand the reluctance to let this be on the page. There is no official credits listed somewhere online. I've checked. How do you prove the soundtrack credits for a TV show? Let me know, and I'll do it.
And please forgive me if I'm doing this "talk" wrong. I'm pretty new to this. Glstacks (talkcontribs) 16:50, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Simply provide a reliable source. How to do so and what they are linked. Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:21, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the link. I read it thoroughly. I don't see a way to provide a reliable source for TV credits. This is quite frustrating because I saw the band and song listed on the show's credits. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your help! Glstacks (talkcontribs) 18:33, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Only that which I have given. Not all things a notable band does is itself notable. There is plenty of content that has not been written about. Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:42, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia is lucky to have such a vigilant editor like you making sure that uninteresting facts don't make it onto The Choir's page. Thank you so much for you contributions!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Glstacks (talkcontribs) 20:09, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Updated and expanded article

edit

I am in the process of revising all the album entries for the Choir, removing POV language, adding relevant information with reliable sources and doing basic formatting and cleanup, and the current version of Shades of Gray as of today is the result. This has involved a trip to the Los Angeles Central Library to collect much of the information listed in the Bibliography, as well as any available archived print versions of CCM Magazine. (Unfortunately, the library's print archives for this source only go back to the year 2000.) However, because this album was released pre-internet, there are a number of reviews of this album that are simply not accessible on the Web or available in the Internet Archive. These are listed specifically at CMNexus.org: The Choir. Any assistance with securing these sources for additional content would be most appreciated! TARDIS (talk) 18:10, 14 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
