what the hell is this?? Mannydantyla (talk) 20:19, 10 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

It relates to the political eras of the United States. See Sixth Party System (as well as Fifth through First; Template:American political eras). clpo13(talk) 22:24, 10 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
I see. I find it very interesting. I'd hold off on deleting it!Mannydantyla (talk) 22:36, 10 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

NPOV dispute edit

This page is a mess, and the sources are questionable. Wasn't this supposed to be redirected to Sixth Party System? This article is written like a middle school essay.2600:1702:4250:4C40:6080:91B5:7596:9C43 (talk) 07:54, 30 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Pretty Shocking In my opinion completely biased. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.158.207.16 (talk) 14:47, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
This article is quite poorly written and needs a complete overhaul. Nonetheless, some media outlets have claimed that we are entering into a seventh party system. In my opinion it ought to be rewritten with an appropriate tie-in on the Sixth Party System page. Pietrus69 (talk) 02:04, 5 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Agreed with the above. The redirect decision should be enforced and this material should be, at most, included under a subhead of Sixth Party System. 71.105.66.228 (talk) 21:27, 5 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
This article should be a redirect to Sixth party system, and should be included under a subhead of Sixth party system. I think that this era hasn't lasted long enough to warrant its own article, even though some media outlets claim that we are entering into a seventh party system. Some sources seen questionable, also this article seems a little biased. Evaxooooof25 (talk) 00:31, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you don't like the tone then help rewrite it. But the sourcing was fine and events this in the first two months of 2021 have made it plenty clear that we have entered a new era politically.
First Political System 1788-1824 = 36 years
Second Party System, 1824-1856 = 32 years
Third Party System, 1856-1896 = 40 years
Fourth Party System, 1896–1932 = 36 years
Fifth Party System, 1932-1968 = 36 years
Sixth Party System, 1968-2016 = 48 years
It is insane to presume that the Sixth Party System is still in effect 20 years longer than any other alignment has lasted.scooteristi (talk) 01:33, 15 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
