Height

edit

What is the height? Most current sources list it as 308 metres, which converts to 1010 ft. However older imperial-only sources, such as this show 1013 ft. Which is correct? We need to use just one in the article, not both. --Bob Re-born (talk) 07:42, 5 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Acland cross or mausoleum

edit

The article says " The mausoleum of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland is located about 0.25 miles (0.40 km) from Selworthy Beacon.[4]". I was trying to find which of the several Thomas Dyke Aclands this refers to. I can find various sources for there being a cross in memory of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 11th Baronet but no record of a mausoleum. Can anyone help?— Rod talk 16:11, 5 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

I note the clarify request on "mausoleum" has been removed. I suspect someone is confused with the "Wind and weather hut" built by the Aclands in 1878, which someone may have seen and thought was a mausoleum - see pic. None of the sources I've found support there being more than a memorial cross.— Rod talk 10:13, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
