Talk:Securing Energy for Europe

NPOV edit

I've removed parts of the "questions about activities" section from the article, as I'm concerned it's something of a coatrack - a series of negative or negative-sounding statements hung together without much editorial input. (I am also concerned about the reliability of some of the sources, but that's another issue)

  • Gornig's involvement with East Germany seems to be entirely unremarkable - he was a senior government bureaucrat, and is now a senior private bureaucrat. This fact is, however, being reported as through it was related to the allegations of fraud - but those don't seem to have anything to do with his past. The allegations may be worth mentioning (I am agnostic on this part) but they should be done so without a misleading context. Perhaps it would be worth mentioning Gornig's background earlier in the article (it is a relevant point) but bringing the fraud allegation up separately, so as not to imply a connection?
  • Strehober was investigated but not charged; the case was dropped. He was fined, but from my understanding of how the German system works, this seems to have been an administrative issue and not a "sentence" in the way we'd characterise it. Presenting it this way seems to unduly imply guilt, and the sources don't quite substantiate that.
