Expanding stub

After coming across E B White's essay about the proposed nuclear power plant on Sears Island, cited now in the text, I looked up this article and found it to be a very simple and insufficient stub. I have reorganized and expanded it. The article stil needs illustrations: perhaps Friends of Sears Island (also now cited in the text) can provide some digital pix of scenery or shots of distinctive local flora and fauna.ElijahBosley ^{(talk ☞)} 19:45, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Categorization

I reverted the edit deleting the category "Islands of Maine," and relying exclusively on the smaller category "Islands of Waldo County." Nobody who is curious about Maine islands is going to go county by county trying to figure out which ones have islands. Maine's inland counties have no islands, and who knows the names of all the Maine counties? I agree with Jiim06's remark that "that the islands should be listed both ways"--that is with the general category "islands of Maine" as well as the smaller specific category of which county they are in. So, with deference, two editors think the category Islands of Maine should stay.ElijahBosley ^{(talk ☞)} 19:47, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Environmental controversies

This section seems to go into way too much detail about the several-tiered appellate process that confirmed a trial court decision that a Plaintiff lacked standing, that is a decision not yet to decide. History & Geography Section

"Sears Island acts as a great element barrier for one of the most well-protected harbors in the state of Maine, Stockton Harbor, an attractive anchorage both for the protection it offers, and its convenience to upper Penobscot Bay towns Searsport, Belfast and Castine"

This sentence is more a realtor's pitch than a useful description of the island and its role at the mouth of Penobscot River.. Perhaps a Stockton Harbor entry should be created if the virtues of that harbor need to be bruited about. But not on the Sears Island page.
