Scrim (material) should be moved to the main Scrim page. "Scrim" referring to the short form of Scrimmage is merely a definition and not worth holidng up the other article.--In Defense of the Artist 04:58, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree that the theatrical sense is the main menning of "scrim", and I think the lighting sense is derivative of that. I would suggest a new article on scrim combining these, with a new dmb page for the gaming sense, and a link to gauze for the textile sense. - PKM 17:38, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

scrim, a light material, originally hair from the horse's tail, is used in the mixing of plaster to create a strong mother case for sculpture moulds, usually found in bronze art foundries. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.235.207.251 (talk) 14:25, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Computer science edit

There appears to be a domain specific meaning in computer science, or possibly related to Google's "Material Design" theme. I cannot seem to find much more information, other than here's a reference, with little definition:

  • "Background for the scrim" [1]
  • Here's more about "Material Design" [2]

Actually I think I found enough doing some other searches to at least make a stub. -Legaia (talk) 19:33, 31 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
