2 Salem
Hello: There is 2 entries : Salem, Massachusetts and Salem, Oregon
I guess we need a single one, with 2 references ? Really don't know how to do this. If this is a good idea, I thank you in advance in dooing so.

- I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean we need a note at the top of each article with a link on how to find other simlarly named articles? In other words, a link to Salem, which is a disambiguation page? Katr67 (talk) 22:54, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Notable Residents
I was just looking at Notable Residents and laughed that we have a porn star and a politician (McKay) as the only two. Perhaps we can find some more? Larry Norman was a Salem resident until his death last year. We can probably find information about that in the Statesman Journal...other than that I can't think of others. There must be a way to find a good variety of residents.BellaMaeMe (talk) 17:28, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I noticed that too. I don't know why we haven't bothered to fill out this section, though some see them as just so much trivia. I tend not to add people to these section, but I do a lot of work maintaining them. If you'd like to fill out the section, take a look at Category:People from Salem, Oregon. - If you do add them, please do so in prose format. The current consensus is to have these sections as prose and not just a list. See Hillsboro and Wilsonville for two that I turned into prose and the first is now FA and the second GA. Aboutmovies (talk) 08:24, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- Also, there are so many that it might merit a separate list article. Such as List of people from Portland, Oregon. I don't know if AM's caveat still applies to a list article. Katr67 (talk) 16:21, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- A list article does not need to be in prose format. Though it really should be more of a "expanded" list if you will. As in the Portland one is just names and what they are famous for, which a category is almost just as good. But a list of people such as List of Oregon State University alumni, List of Willamette University alumni, or List of tallest buildings in Portland, Oregon are much better (the latter is a Featured List). You can also see List of people from Hillsboro, Oregon for a list which has a different layout that might work better than the Portland one for a city with a lot less notable people than Portland.
