Full Dress edit

Blue Overalls, is this so and if so were they not previously in Red? When the Change if so? Alaxdar (talk) 18:09, 11 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • The only British cavalry regiment to wear red (actually crimson) overalls is the Royal Hussars. The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and its predecessor regiments have always worn dark blue breeches or overalls. Buistr (talk) 10:58, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Official Abbreviation edit

This section is to do with the OFFICIAL abbreviation - ie: as listed in the riveting Joint Service Publication 101 (Service Writing). It is not for the commonly used abbreviations, hence why it is 4/7DG and not 4/7, which that regiment was commonly known as. RSDG is probably the most common of the incorrect abbreviations often seen and must be included. SDG is a very good example of the problems that can occur (similar to the Queens Own Hussars and the Queens Own Highlanders!).

Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Amazing Grace record edit

I know this probably won't interest most readers here but i would like to put the record straight on the "participants"of the above mentioned hit record, seeing as i am one of the original band members on the recording. The "Editorial"on the Scots D Gs site says"The Pipes and Drums"had a hit with Amazing Grace. This is not true because it was made by The Pipes and Drums and Military Band of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards(although reading the editorial on the site you would'nt think so),it was also arranged by the Bandmaster of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Military Band.Without both bands recording it certainly would not have reached number 1 for 5 weeks so its very annoying not to have credit where credits due,it always appears to be just the Pipes and Drums,no mention of the Military Band. There were nearly 60 musicians on the record, not just the 25 or so in the Pipe Band.Nobbyclarke (talk) 17:33, 20 September 2009 (UTC) Alaxdar (talk) 18:06, 11 May 2011 (UTC)Quite right too, still one of my fav recordings of my fav hymn, there goes ABBA!Reply

Intro change - remove Classical Brits? edit

Whilst it might be nice to win the "Classical Brits" for those involved, I suggest it's downgraded to a mention in the main article. Hundreds of years of history, sacrifice, VCs etc shouldn't be the same level of priority as a second rate music prize. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.113.125.32 (talk) 16:33, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
