editThe Farmer's register has some very flattering descriptions, but it is an advertisement, so has been used sparingly.
Sometimes it's hard to tell whether sources are referring to John or Bill when they just say "Scott".
The portrait of the horse by John Ferneley seems to have been very well known at the time but I couldn't get a usable version.
I would hazard a guess that Bill Scott's mysterious indisposition before the Champagne Stakes was gin-related, but I may be slandering his memory unforgivably. Tigerboy1966 23:46, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
