Translation?

edit

Can someone translate the german page or even add details on the Rothschild since this one is lacking at the moment, and it would be a great addition to wikipedia for this article to be created in depth.

It would also help to note that the Rothschilds are also involved with the Illuminati--Lord X 16:59, 18 June 2006 (UTC)User:XinyuReply

The Illuminati?! Get a grip, people. This article obviously needs a helluva lotta work -- but it does not need more paranoid, anti-semitic fantasy. --Michael K. Smith 17:35, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Dear Micheal K. Smith, why does it have to be antisemitic to have an option based on historical facts or writings, that someone, or a family (in full or part), or even a group of affiliates might have a conducted agenda? I am English and any attack on… for example, Richard Branson (English Anglo-Saxon like myself) and his business dealings, is not an attack on myself or my people. Perhaps you are the one who might want top get a grip before everyone starts to question why you are trying to deflect by way of using unfounded accusations. "Let me issue and control a nation's money and I care not who writes the laws." Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744-1812), founder of the House of Rothschild.

"The few who understand the system will either be so interested in its profits or be so dependent upon its favours that there will be no opposition from that class, while on the other hand, the great body of people, mentally incapable of comprehending the tremendous advantage that capital derives from the system, will bear its burdens without complaint, and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical to their interests." The Rothschild brothers of London writing to associates in New York, 1863.

The History of the House of Rothschild

edit

I think this book covers pretty much all there is to the rothschilds. Also the geneology tree link given in the previous section would be very helpful in creating a detailed article. Farqis 14:52, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Knight's shield

edit

With the famous Rothschild family anyway, The Baur family changed their name after being knighted by the Austrian emperor taking the name of the red-shield of the Templars (jolly roger). They are further recorded in the Jewish Encyclopedia as a Vatican banker of some sorts, as the knights often were.72.161.236.97 (talk) 00:38, 13 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Pronunciation

edit
I heard all sorts of Anglophonic butcherings of German surnames (poor Schwarzschild). No value in externalizing them here. --37.120.4.28 (talk) 07:25, 1 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
The German pronunciation is [ˈʁoːt.ʃɪld], not with a t at the end.Ontologix (talk) 19:31, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Wrong, such a d at the end becomes a t in German standard pronunciation (see "Duden Aussprachewörterbuch)". It becomes a d in the plural, by the way (Schilde, Schilder). --Anvilaquarius (talk) 08:12, 2 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
