Notability question
edit@Jan Arvid Götesson, and anyone else who has an interest, I'm having trouble confirming the Wikipedia:Notability of this cultivar. When I did a search in Google books I only found two short mentions of it. Do you have any other sources that would show that it is a particularly important or well known rose cultivar? 🌿MtBotany (talk) 02:08, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
- ADR - Allgemeine Deutsche Rosenneuheitenprüfung is set up by the Federal Government of Germany, the Association of German Nurseries, and test gardens.
- The Federal Government of Germany says: “Value properties such as frost hardiness, flowering behavior and leaf health are tested over the course of 3 years without the use of pesticides. New roses that are resistant to disease based on testing and have a high decorative value receive the ADR quality mark. To date, over 2,000 varieties have been tested by ADR , of which over 200 varieties have been awarded the coveted ADR designation. The current ADR variety list now contains 192 varieties.” (Current list is a bit shorter according to ADR)
- So KORschwill belongs to a select group of cultivars.
- Peter E. Kukielski wrote in 2015: “‘Black Forest Rose’ has only been around for a few years but it has already established itself as one of the most disease-resistant roses, which is exceptional for a red rose.” The full page in Peter Kukielski’s book is more than a mention.
