Reason for the change: It is essential that the trademarks for these varieties be specifically identified, as otherwise they may be interpreted as generic variety denominations or otherwise deemed non-proprietary terms. Plant breeders must police the identification of their varieties on resources like this one to protect their valuable intellectual property rights.
