Talk:Ropeadope Records

This article was deleted once before, please see the details here. Nothing seems to have changed, if anything the article is just a lot less substantive now. TastyCakes (talk) 16:15, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Any record label that has a dozen notable album articles by as many notable musicians is itself a notable label. If you check "what links here" and the long discogrpahy I wrote, it is very obvious the notability of the company. There is also the Category:Ropeadope Records albums. There was some concern last time about whether they were a "record label" or just a distributor of CDs. Do you have evidence to suggest the former over the latter? TastyCakes (talk) 17:10, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ropeadope Records is a record label. [1] Cosprings (talk) 17:13, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure if that really demonstrates it... Also, how do you respond to the other questions raised in the old AFD, perhaps most notably if it fits with the stuff in Wikipedia:Notability (music) and Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)? I don't have strong feelings one way or another about this, as you can see I was the only one that voted to keep it last time. But if it doesn't demonstrate notability someone's gonna delete it. Ropeadope is a well known hip hop/etc label. They released albums by musicians. These albums have their own articles. I'm not sure what else make a label notable besides releasing notable albums by notable musicains. Cosprings (talk) 17:36, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I won't encourage its deletion any more than I already have. But I would suggest that you add some third party references (that comply with reliable source standards) to demonstrate notability. TastyCakes (talk) 17:58, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
