FATAL MISTAKE edit
The diocese is called itself Diocese of the Canary Isles Diocese of Canaries NOT. Because in the Canary Isles there are 2 dioceses (Diocese of Tenerife, western province and diocese of Canaries, western province). CHANGE THE TITLE OF THE ARTICLE in the web page of the diocese it puts: Roman Catholic Diocese of Canary not "Diocese of Islas Canarias". Please correct this great mistake

Despite its name, it is not the only diocese in the Canary Islands. This must be very clear: The February 1, 1819 was established the Diocese of San Cristobal de La Laguna (also called Diocese of Tenerife or Diocese Nivariense) that encompasses the western islands: Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. The "Diocese of Canarias" encompasses only the eastern islands: Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. It has recently emerged between the society of Lanzarote the desire to recover the diocesan headquarters of San Marcial del Rubicón, that was moved to Las Palmas in the late fifteenth century.--88.9.97.162 (talk) 13:58, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
