Does anyone have any historical referance material that details how the river Blackwater was named?

The river does not run into the Whitewater: the reverse is the case. The Hart runs into the Whitewater which runs into the Blackwater which runs into the Loddon which runs into the Thames. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.176.189 (talk) 16:29, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Long River?

I noticed that Google maps calls the Blackwater the "Long River" (above the confluence with the Whitewater). This is partially confirmed by an 1894 OS map which uses both names for parts of the river, though it doesn't appear in other maps of the period. Is it worth recording in the article or is it not recognized? Chris55 (talk) 11:50, 31 August 2014 (UTC)

I have mentioned in the article that it is briefly called "Long Water" near Finchampstead, and the variety of names for the final section below the Whitewater. I'll have a look at Long River and see if I can find anything more. Bob1960evens (talk) 17:13, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

B class?

I'd think the article was B class before I edited it. I've made it reach the style needed by the global WP:COPYEDIT guides in nearly all ways. That is more a finesse point many 'A' and 'B' articles miss!- Adam37 Talk 21:08, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
