Rim Exit Device
editI have removed "Rim locks can be found on security exit doors with an exit device, also known as a panic hardware or fire exit hardware, that will sound an alarm when opened or unlock in the event of a fire. Rim exit devices have adjustments to counter the effects of door or door frame warping." because although this fire exit lock fixes to the surface of a door it is not a rim lock and so shouldn't be here. Rim locks are sold today and are called rim locks because rim lock is what that specific type of lock is called not because it describes how it fixs to a door even though it does describe it. It would be better for you to start a new article titled Emergency Exit Lock here so as not to confuse.English Lock (talk) 08:36, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
