Removed these lines from the article since Flanders never was a Kingdom but a County of France, nor is there any mention in the series of a Flemish kindom:

As Richard's wife is Queen Regnant of Flanders, it is likely that Richard enjoys the title and power of King of that country, as was customary in the 15th century when a queen regnant married. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.40.193.16 (talk) 12:54, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Blackadder history isn't real history. In the series, Iceland has a Queen; in real history it never had a monarchy of its own. The credits for Born To Be King call Gertrude 'Gertrude, Queen of Flanders'. She can't be the wife of the Flemish king because she's married to the King of England, so she must be Queen of Flanders in her own right. Jess Cully (talk) 18:56, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Does anyone know when Richard IV was born? Not in real life, but in the series. The Shadow-Fighter (talk) 23:00, 31 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

No birthdate is given in the series. The real Richard, Duke of York was born in 1473, but this would not match the character of Richard in the series, who is a grown man with 2 sons old enough to fight in the Battle of Bosworth in 1485!
