I question two assertions made in this article:

• "...the term Residence Hall Director is the common title used for this position..." I have never seen evidence of this and it is contrary to my (admittedly, limited) experience. Is there any evidence or is this a blind assertion? This is a rather important question as this is the title of the article. If another title is more commonly used for this position then the title of the article should be changed to reflect that fact.
• "[M]ost universities require Residence Hall Directors to have at the minimum a Master's Degree..." The most recent Live In/On Report by Rich Horowitz, the best source for this information of which I am aware, contradicts this assertion. In this survey, 223 of the 459 institutions indicated they do not require a Master's degree for their professional live-in/on staff. Only 174 indicated they do require the degree.

• • ElKevbo, I work in residential education, so I have a pretty good grasp of the job...I'm not familiar with the Rich Horowitz source you listed, but I did take a look at it and was rather surprised. It seems to me that the larger universities (with exceptions) seem to be the ones requiring the Master's. To address your other assertion about the job title, I conducted a random search through several university websites, and found that a good many of them do call the job either "Residence Hall Director," or the shorter "Residence Director (RD)." I believe it will be sufficient to keep the article under this title and simply redirect any other possible titles to this one (as most people will certainly be aware that regardless of the title, the job is essentially the same). --ScottyBoy900Q 06:53, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
