This article is ludicrous in many regards. Comparison of a pump rifle to an auto-loader rifle and a pump shotgun is amateurish at best. Also no article on the model 7600 should ignore its forerunners, the model 760 and six. This article needs to be re-done from ground up. why does the article claim that the slide/pump action is inherently safer? it mentions that the 7600 with an empty chamber is safer than a semi-auto with a loaded chamber... this is a condition of how the weapon is loaded NOT the firing mechanism, function or other factors. semi-autos can be loaded quickly too. the only thing I DO see to gain is ease of loading for someone with minimal training and/or dexterity. I do wonder though, if the person is actually unable to get competent with a standard semi-auto then how would that person become competent with a 7600? yes, semi-autos can be more complex or confusing for someone who doesn't know much about firearms BUT people that deficient in skills and practice shouldn't be using guns in the first place. I don't recall any police using anything other than semi-auto pistols in my lifetime.... so how is a semi-auto a problem. I do concede that persons without professional training and/or lots of practice may be unable to maintain a semi-auto or clear jams quickly. I also concede that a failure to feed/chamber a round while hunting/sporting can be a great deterrent in buying a semi-auto. this firearm may be preferable for some persons but it's not any easier to load or SAFER than a semi-auto. either the person that typed that is ignorant of how semi-autos work or is scarred of them (possibly due to local regulation and unfamiliarity?). perhaps he/she didn't quite understand semi vs. full automatic, or open and closed bolt cycling?

Article is incorrectly named

This article should be renamed or moved to Remington Model 7600 which is the correct naming convention for this firearm and has been categorized as such. DeusImperator (talk) 16:24, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
