Talk:Reactor operator

Control Room Operator? I am unfamiliar with this term as defined by the NRC. While manipulation of the controls is allowed by a trainee under the direct supervision... etc etc (See 10CFR-55 for more info if desired), such a person is just a trainee. There is no special regulatory title for this person. I'll change it for now and can discuss if desired. I will provide the trainee text from 10CFR at the bottom of the section. This article only talks about the requirements for operating a power reactor - research reactors (and I think test reactors as well) have different requirements (for example, SROs at the Reed Research Reactor do not yet have college degrees). I might be able to come back and edit this later, but if someone else has more knowlege and/or time, a bit of update would be nice. Or is that unimportant? Aliaras (talk) 00:31, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
