Unfortunately, the article is not close to meeting the GA criteria at this time.
- Prose: The prose could use improvement. In particular, there are many short paragraphs that should be combined into a more cohesive whole.
- Verifiability: This source is user generated content and not acceptable. Some of the sources are bare urls, also not acceptable. Yet more are missing key information such as publication name.
- Coverage: Several years ago, an editor noted that the article did not cover controversies that the subject was involved in. It still doesn't. Keeping in mind NPOV and BLP issues, is there anything that could be added on that front?
- NPOV: I have some doubts about this, particularly partisan language such as "After the BJP lost power in the 2004 general elections, it was forced to sit in the Opposition."
- MOS: the article does not follow MOS:IMAGELOC due to the infobox. I would fix this issue by removing less important positions from the infobox.
We need more, higher quality articles about India. I highly encourage you to fix these issues, flesh the article out, and resubmit. buidhe (formerly Catrìona) 10:57, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
