Controversy Section
editThe wording seems very partisan, it starts off with "despite" which sets the tone specifically for one side. I'm not entirely sure it belongs on this page either as it's very unrelated. SailingOn (talk) 12:08, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
- While in the issue itself, I would certainly take sides with those who say that those scalps should be returned to the tribes for a proper burial, I agree that this section is definitely not written in an encyclopedically neutral style:
- "Despite the fact that Native American remains are sacred items..."
- It is most certainly not for an encyclopedia to decide what items are sacred or not. "Sacred" is not an encyclopedic category. It is simply absurd to state as an encyclopedic "fact" that something is "sacred".
- This could easily be amended however by a simple rewording, provided there are proper sources to support it, for instance something like this:
- "Despite the fact that Native American remains are considered sacred items by (whoever, depending on what the source says)..." --87.150.1.57 (talk) 11:55, 13 January 2018 (UTC)
