Runway directions
editMain runway is 060 240 ( 06 & 24 ), will find out the info on the other two and update here, as no idea how to update this info to the artical. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.1.159.95 (talk) 00:45, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- Added 06/24 to the infobox. Would be good to show the length there too. Wire723 (talk) 11:58, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
UK Airfield Guide lists the runways as 07/25 - 1829x46, 13/31 - 1280x46, 02/20 - 1280x46, the units must be yards as the main runway is about a mile long http://www.ukairfieldguide.net/airfields/Keevil80.42.215.116 (talk) 21:55, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
ATA wartime use
editSpitfires were built in nearby Trowbridge and taken to Keevil on queen mary trailers and then flown out by the ATA. https://www.forces-war-records.co.uk/blog/2016/02/25/discovering-the-history-of-trowbridge-spitfires-and-raf-melksham-what-role-did-your-town-play-during-world-war-two92.1.146.232 (talk) 16:59, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

Old assembly hangar
editCitation needed but its the About Us url of the company using the hanger https://www.tkcsales.co.uk/17-about-us Their history shows that they moved in in 2008. Access to the airfield requires both the key to the gate and a PPR number from RAF Brize Norton, the hangar is accessed directly from the village of Steeple Ashton and not from the airfield. I can take a photo of it if required.92.23.232.227 (talk) 20:54, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks - updated article. Wire723 (talk) 13:59, 27 April 2018 (UTC)
Dissposal
editI am told by Bannerdown gliding club that the RAF have finished with Keevil and that it wil be disposed of, when I can find a verifyable link to this info then I will update this. It may well pass to the army due to it's proximity to the Salisbury Plain Training Area, or to the Fleet Air Arm due to the high use by Yeovilton.79.68.15.14 (talk) 23:47, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
